The black drongo is a small Asian passerine bird of the drongo family Dicruridae. It is a common resident breeder in much of tropical southern Asia from southwest Iran through Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka east to southern China and Indonesia and accidental visitor of Japan. It is an all black bird with a distinctive forked tail and measures 28 cm in length. This specimen was photographed in Mumbai, India

This is a very young tigress who was emerging from within the forest in order to continue her hunt. As she stepped out, the setting sun dropped its light on her visage. I missed taking photographs of her charge which took place a few minutes after this shot was taken.
She is the famous Raj Bhera tigress - the Queen of Bandhavgarh. This is the first tigress I had ever seen, clearly and in the wild open. I think she has passed on to that great Game Sanctuary in the sky where all the wild animals go. I don't know if I will ever be back to Bandhavgarh and see a tiger floating over the ground like a beautiful apparition.

I took this picture in the Wollemi National Park in New South Wales, Australia. Sometimes you have to go prone to the floor in order to get the butterflies resting on twigs and leaves early in the morning, something that I am not loathe to do. I am trying to identify this species and getting really frustrated as I am not getting the right name.
